We couldn’t be happier with the work Dave from Forest Joinery did on our renovation. From the first enquiry, Dave was professional, responsive and incredibly thorough. He asked all the right questions before quoting, his pricing was very reasonable, and everything was delivered exactly within the timeframe he promised. What really stood out was that Dave wasn’t afraid to tell us if something wasn’t the best idea or the most practical solution. Instead of just building what was on the plans, he suggested better alternatives. After living in the house for a month now, we’ve realised just how valuable his advice was. Had he not spoken up, we wouldn’t have known any different until after everything was finished. Dave never minded answering questions, no matter how trivial they seemed. He understood that every little detail contributes to how practical and enjoyable the house is to live in, and he was always happy to share his experience and explain the reasoning behind his recommendations. Dave completed our custom kitchen featuring custom-made 2-pack polyurethane shaker doors, along with our walk-in pantry, laundry, walk-in robe, custom ensuite vanity, Polytec cabinetry, stone benchtops, a curved benchtop and Steccawood detailing. The quality and attention to detail are outstanding. Every drawer and door glides smoothly, closes perfectly, and the overall finish is exactly what we had hoped for. Dave was also refreshingly honest throughout the process. On several occasions he recommended more economical options that would actually give a better result, which we really appreciated. Our builder, who has exceptionally high standards for workmanship and cleanliness, was also very impressed with Dave and his work, which gave us even more confidence we’d made the right choice. Dave also worked very well alongside our other trades and coordinated with them to ensure he wasn't getting in anyone's way. His after-sales service has been just as impressive. Even after installation, he’s been happy to answer questions and make sure everything is exactly as it should be. Unfortunately our budget didn’t stretch far enough to have Dave build every piece of cabinetry in the house. Comparing his 2-pack polyurethane finish to a more budget-friendly option we used elsewhere has really highlighted the difference in quality. Even a month after moving in, the cheaper cabinetry still has a noticeable chemical smell, whereas Dave’s joinery had none from day one. Our only regret is that we ran out of budget and couldn’t have Dave do everything! We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Dave and Forest Joinery to anyone looking for high quality custom joinery, and we’ll definitely be getting him back for any future projects.Read More
